Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Process bi-weekly payroll for 200 employees (multi-companies).
  • Verify and correct timesheets in Clearview time management software.
  • Verify, correct, and ensure accuracy of data following the transfer of timesheets into the Deluxe Payweb payroll system.
  • Resolve routine payroll-related issues and liaise with relevant parties.
  • Serve as the primary contact for employees and managers for all payroll and timesheet inquiries.
  • Manage and update employee records (hiring, terminations, changes, etc.).
  • Create new employees in the system along with associated pay slips.
  • Manage salary increases (create increase slips, enter increases in Clearview and Payweb, inform employees, maintain salary increase file up to date, etc.).
  • Manage leaves and absences (calculate vacations, calculate statutory holidays as necessary, banked time, sick hours, family obligation, maternity, paternity, or other).
  • Process terminations and manage Record of Employment (create, amend, save, be the point of contact for Service Canada, etc.).
  • Process CNESST calculations in case of workplace accidents.
  • Manage alimony and other deductions.
  • Manage the RVER program for employees (registration on Industrial Alliance portal, provide information to employees, follow-ups, activation, remittances, etc.).
  • Annual production of tax slips (T4, TA4, R1, R3, T5, T4A-NR, T2200).
  • Participate in year-end payroll file preparation.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of payroll procedures (multi-companies).
  • Participate in the pay equity process.
  • Any other tasks or projects related to payroll and human resources.

Skills and Competencies

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in French.
  • Functional written and verbal communication skills in English to serve English-speaking employees).
  • Member of the Canadian Payroll Association (considerable asset).
  • Excellent attention to detail, thoroughness, and good organization skills.
  • Demonstrate discretion and maintain impeccable work ethics.
  • Collaborative, reliable, methodical, and rigorous work approach.
  • Possess analytical thinking and a deep understanding of payroll intricacies.
  • Good team player, able to work effectively under pressure, and able to meet deadlines.

Education and Experience

  • Diploma in accounting or equivalent education and experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar position.

Work Schedule

  • Full-time permanent position (40 hours per week)
  • Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (in person)
